A Special Part of NAMPO ALFA Returns

For many farmers, breeders and agricultural families, livestock has always been part of what makes NAMPO ALFA feel like NAMPO ALFA.

After several years in which COVID-19 and foot-and-mouth disease affected the exhibition of livestock at agricultural events, plans are in place to welcome animals back to NAMPO Park in 2026 — responsibly and under the applicable animal-health and biosecurity requirements.

It is something worth celebrating: not only the animals in the ring, but the breeders behind them, the young people learning the industry, and the conversations that happen when farming people get together again.

Livestock Returns Responsibly

Animal health, biosecurity and the wellbeing of the wider livestock industry remain a priority at NAMPO ALFA 2026.

What to Look Forward To

Interbreed Competition

See leading animals and the breeders behind them as the interbreed programme builds towards the Old Mutual Wealth Interbreed Championships on Saturday afternoon.

BKB Super 10 Bokskou

The BKB Super 10 Bokskou takes place on Friday morning in the Old Mutual Ring, adding another competitive highlight to the livestock programme.

Farm Skills

Young agriculturalists put practical knowledge to the test across both days.

Farm Skills includes everything from sheep shearing, wool handling and livestock selection to tractor driving, wire tensioning, spray calibration and stockmanship.

Junior Agriculture

The Zoetis Jnr Landbou Jeug Parade takes place on both days, with the Zoetis Jnr Interras Kampioenskap forming part of Friday afternoon's programme.

Animals in Action

There is more happening outside the competition ring too, with horse demonstrations, miniature donkeys, miniature horses and Trusty dog demonstrations scheduled across the two days.

Industry Conversations

NAMPO ALFA is also a place to talk about where agriculture is going.

Friday's programme includes the NaLFA Congress, Old Mutual conversations and “Rooivleis: 'n Toekomsperspektief post bek-en-klou”.
