RPO Animal Theft Workshop
Focussing on the different ways of managing animal theft and how to prevent it.
Presented by RMIS and SAPS.
Sernick Carcass Competition
20 small-scale farmers with cattle in the Sernick feedlot participate in this competition. All animals are exhibited in the RMIS Hall. The animals are judged on the hoof, then taken to the Sernick abattoir in Kroonstad to be slaughtered where the carcasses are judged. The winner is announced at the ALFA dinner.
NaLFA-SA Farmers’ Dialogue
Inclusive Growth – Accessing the Full Value Chain
Focusses on the different methods of feeding, managing animal health, identifying livestock, animal handling & management, etc in the small-scale livestock farming industry.
Landbank Small-Scale Livestock Conference
The conference explores issues of inclusive growth as a pillar in the transformation agenda, and the tools available to achieve the goals of the Agriculture and Agro-processing Master Plan. The National Livestock Farmers Association of South Africa (NaLFA-SA) is the main sponsor of the conference that brings together key stakeholders and speakers to present on the relevant topics.
